COVID-19 PANDEMIC: WORK FROM HOME

COVID-19 PANDEMIC: WORK FROM HOME

Working from home is great not until some noises come in from your neighbor or your pet throws up on your computer. Working at home can be easy for some to become their own worst enemy. When you’re not surrounded by your coworkers, you are free to drop those troublesome inhibitions. Being at home, you don’t need to feel the same pressure or communal obligation to get stuff done.

TIPS ON HOW TO EFFECTIVELY WORK FROM HOME

  • Get started early

Your morning commute helps you wake up and feel ready to work when working in an office. However, at home, it can be much more jarring on the shift from your pillow to your computer. By diving into your to-do lists as soon as you wake up is another way on how to effectively work from home. By finishing a project early in the morning can be the key to making progress throughout the day.

  • Pretend like you’re going to the office

Do all the things you’d do to prepare from an office role such as setting your alarm, having coffee, and wearing nice clothes.

  • Organize your day as you would in the office

You are your manager when working from home. Stay on schedule and section what you will do. Make personal reminders and events that will tell you when to change work and begin on new tasks.

  • Have a dedicated workplace

Instead of finding yourself on the couch or up in your room, have a space in your home or a specific room to work.

  • Don’t mess with your social media

Being out on your social media accounts while working can help you be productive within the day. During working hours, eliminate them from the shortcuts of your browsers and log out every account you have.

  • Be obliged to doing more tasks

Just as you are cheered up to expect too much of how much time you will spend doing on one thing, you should also expect too much of how many things can do throughout the day.

  • Plan on what you’ll be working on

One way on how to be productive when working from home is to plan your schedule a day before. It will be easy for you to begin with your work for a day.

  • Match your music to your tasks in a day

You can listen to music that matches the energy of the project you are working on. Music might help you focus on your work.

  • Communicate with anyone who will be home with you

You might be working from home but still, you need to have a ‘company’. Make sure that any of your roommates, parents, siblings, pets, or spouses respect your space during your work hours.

  • Take clear breaks

It can be easily distracted when working from home. Rather than just watching some comfort clips or opening YouTube, use your breaks to step out from your desk. You can go for a walk outside and spend time with others who might also be with you inside the house.

  • Prepare your meals the night before

It can be tempting to spend a lot of time preparing your meal when at home. Preparing your food ahead of time ensures that you are using your mealtimes.
