Certain estrogen products may be used by women to prevent bone loss after menopause. However, there are some medications that are also effective in preventing bone loss and it may be safer. These drugs should be considered for use before estrogen treatment.

There are also certain estrogen products that may be used by men and women to treat cancers. Some of those are breast cancer and prostate cancer. This may also be used by women who are not able to produce enough estrogen. It happens maybe because of hypogonadism or primary ovarian failure.

How does Femtrace (Estradiol Acetate) work?

Femtrace (Estradiol Acetate) acts through binding to nuclear receptors in estrogen-responsive tissues. These differ in the amount from tissue to tissue. Circulating estrogens controls the pituitary secretion of the gonadotropins. It also luteinizes hormone and follicle stimulating hormone. It is through an adverse reaction mechanism.

Estrogens act to decrease the raised levels of these hormones seen in postmenopausal women.
